About the Opportunity

RI Talent is recruiting on behalf of an established and growing public accounting firm based in Wakefield, Massachusetts.

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Tax Senior to join its expanding tax practice. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional looking to develop their technical expertise, take greater ownership of client engagements and progress their career within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio of corporate and individual clients, gaining exposure to complex tax matters, advisory services and long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts and individuals.
  • Support tax planning and advisory services for corporate and individual clients.
  • Assist with the resolution of federal and state tax notices and enquiries.
  • Conduct tax research and contribute to special projects.
  • Provide bookkeeping and accounting support where required.
  • Manage multiple client engagements while ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
  • Collaborate with senior management and colleagues to deliver high-quality client services.

Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience within a public accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of US federal and state taxation.
  • Experience preparing corporate, partnership, trust and individual tax returns.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • CPA qualification in progress or eligibility to pursue CPA certification.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Taxation or a related field.
  • Experience using QuickBooks and ProSystem fx Tax.
  • Previous experience managing client relationships and supporting tax planning initiatives.
